SolidWorks Production Engineer
A premier engineering group is seeking a motivated SolidWorks Production Engineer to join our team in the Smyrna, GA area. In this high-impact role, you will create and maintain manufacturing documentation for custom aluminum canopy systems in collaboration with fabrication and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create, revise, and maintain clear 3D models, assemblies, weldments, and 2D production drawings for fabrication and welding.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to resolve design and production issues on deadline.
• Maintain strict revision control and ensure documentation meets company standards for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify opportunities to streamline drawing efficiency and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) and Excel alongside SolidWorks to enhance daily workflows.
Qualifications:
• 1–2 years of hands-on SolidWorks experience creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D production drawings.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Excel, and comfort utilizing AI prompts to drive workflow efficiency.
• Logical problem-solver with strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and clear communication.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related physical engineering field.
• Background in machine shop, manufacturing, metal fabrication, or construction environments.
• Familiarity with aluminum/steel welding processes or reading architectural drawings.
